How Kaylio’s Memory Works

After eligible conversations, Kaylio proposes structured memories such as facts, preferences, events, and meaningful context. Approved memories can be retrieved when they are relevant and within your plan’s recall window.

Extraction is probabilistic, so a proposed memory can be incomplete or wrong. The Memory Journal lets you approve, edit, pin, reject, or delete it before it becomes trusted recall context.

Memory Tiers

Free uses a 30-day recall window and Core uses one year. Deep is coming after beta with a full relationship memory window. These windows control retrieval eligibility; they are not a promise that every stored item will be recalled.

Downgrading shortens the active recall window without automatically deleting older stored memories. Pinned approved memories are user-controlled anchors and remain eligible across plan windows, up to the documented pin limit.

What Gets Remembered

Eligible examples include names, preferences, important dates, ongoing goals, meaningful events, and user-defined boundaries. The extraction model can make mistakes, so each proposed memory should be treated as a draft until reviewed.

Approved memories can support continuity without turning the AI into a real person. Kaylio is companion software, and its generated responses remain probabilistic.

For example, an approved upcoming-event memory may help a later response refer to that event when the conversation naturally makes it relevant. You can rate that recall as correct, imperfect, wrong, or unwanted.

Privacy & Control

You control the memory journal in the product: view proposed and approved memories, edit or delete individual items, pin important anchors, export your account data, or request account deletion.

You remain in control of your data. The companion memory dashboard lets you view, edit, or delete individual memories. You can also export your data or request a full wipe at any time. All stored data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

Kaylio sends the limited context needed for generation, embeddings, and safety classification to configured service providers as described in the Privacy Policy. Conversation or memory text is not sent to product analytics vendors.
